Sarah Palin Is Always Sarah Palin

Cheers of 'RUN SARAH RUN' greeted Governor Palin when she visited the Daytona 500 in Florida.
Though recent political media headlines centered on the CPAC Convention in Washington, DC, Sarah Palin received one of the finest accolades possible when she spoke that same week to an overflow crowd for the Arkansas Republican Party.
For those who ’Tweeted’ us it was said she “brought the house down”, was “even more impressive in person than imagined” and that another “was inspired as never before to register voters”. She received standing ovations and grateful cheers and the Arkansas GOP had one very successful night.
Remember, there is a critical U.S. Senate battle brewing there which finds the incumbent Democrat tanking in the polls and so a possible Republican gain may be achieved. Certainly Sarah Palin’s rousing speech set the tone for robust campaigns this year in Arkansas.
But it was something written about Governor Palin that may one day grace the walls of her future Presidential Library. In his observations about the evening, columnist Paul Krugman noted that “SARAH PALIN IS ALWAYS SARAH PALIN”. He said this with admiration and not scorn. Here is Krugman’s full quote:
“The lady not only knew where she was but, more important, like Rose in the movie “Moonstruck,” knows who she is. And makes no apologies for it. That’s something else her oh-so-superior critics can’t stand. Other politicians are so sophisticated, flexible, plastic, nuanced … that they seem to have no backbone at all. Sarah Palin is always Sarah Palin.”
He could not be more correct. Whether you meet Sarah Palin in person or watch her for afar you realize she is authentic to the core. What is amusing are the self-appointed political pundits that somehow continue to get paid for saying nothing still cannot figure her out. Following Governor Palin’s speech to Tea Party conventioneers in Nashville it was said that she was not ‘conventional’ in her delivery and not ‘polished’ like the President.
What these elitists do not understand is that Sarah Palin is very conventional, and in the minds of millions, very polished. Why? It’s because she speaks as they do and speaks from her heart with conviction. Imagine that would you? We may well be able to vote for a leader who speaks not from the motivation of poll numbers, frantic media advisors and self-important campaign operatives but straight from the gut.

Governor Palin brought an overflow crowd to its feet during a Texas campaign rally for her friend, Governor Rick Perry.
America is fortunate to have Governor Palin. Can you think of anyone else in public life today unafraid to say exactly what they think? It is refreshing when she talks of about the reason the word ‘illegal’ is used for those who dishonestly entered our country. It is amusing when she speaks about President Obama’s lofty academic speech over practical common sense. It is also deeply gratifying that she speaks for a love of the unborn without seeing it through the prism of nuanced statements and focus groups. And finally, isn’t it refreshing that she can talk about her faith as a living testimony not as an attitude to hold over another’s head.
For Sarah Palin, like Ronald Reagan before her, the sun never sets on the optimism of our shared American experience. President Obama may be awarded a discredited Nobel Peace Prize but Governor Palin has something far more valuable. She knows who she is, what she stands for, what she is not and what greatness is always ahead for the United States.
How many times in life has someone offered you the advice to simply ‘be yourself’? If you are like most folks…probably quite often. Thank goodness SARAH PALIN is always SARAH PALIN. A person who knows themselves knows how to heroically effect change. She would arrive in Washington with a full head of steam and a mandate to clean house. Let all of us do our part to make certain this happens!
