We have come together here because the American people deserve better from those to whom they entrust our nation's highest offices, and we stand united in our resolve to do something about it."

These words were spoken by candidate Ronald Reagan in 1980 when he accepted the GOP nomination for President.  They are even more true today than in 1980.  We can hope candidate Sarah Palin will deliver similar words in 2012 accepting the GOP nomination on the way to victory over Obama:

Never before in our history have Americans been called upon to face three grave threats to our very existence, any one of which could destroy us. We face a disintegrating economy, a weakened defense and an energy policy based on the sharing of scarcity.

The major issue of this campaign is the direct political, personal and moral responsibility of Democratic Party leadership –i n the White House and in Congress — for this unprecedented calamity which has befallen us. They tell us they have done the most that humanly could be done. They say that the United States has had its day in the sun; that our nation has passed its zenith. They expect you to tell your children that the American people no longer have the will to cope with their problems; that the future will be one of sacrifice and few opportunities.

My fellow citizens, I utterly reject that view. The American people, the most generous on earth, who created the highest standard of living, are not going to accept the notion that we can only make a better world for others by moving backwards ourselves. Those who believe we can have no business leading the nation.

Hopefully common sense and a little growing-up will prevail in the Romney camp. America deserves better and so does Sarah Palin.

This week’s dust-up between rival 2012 Presidential ‘camps’ identified some tensions that will no doubt surface again.  As Palin supporters well remember, this is the second time in two years Mitt Romney had to apologize to Sarah.

The first came when he and Congressman Eric Cantor (R-Virginia) began an ill-conceived redefining of the GOP following the 2008 election.  When asked at that time about Sarah Palin’s future role in the GOP Romney made a backhanded comment that pretty much said she was good looking but little else.  Few found his intemperate remark funny and Romney’s strange alliance with Cantor and their new organization ‘listening tour’ quickly fell apart.

No-one disputes Romney’s aspirations as a candidate...what is in dispute is that Romney was maddeningly silent for more than a year as the media savaged Sarah Palin and her family.

He did nothing…absolutely nothing…to call for fairness or an end to the daily witch hunt.  This will be to his lasting shame for it evidenced a desire to maintain friendships with mainstream media types rather than do what was right by Palin and American democracy.

As we know Sarah is one very tough American and she will be a worthy adversary for Romney or Obama as current polling shows. However, the ferocity and cowardice of the staffers who made comments about Palin’s intelligence or seriousness as a mother, politician and leader are rare.

Here at REAGANtoPALIN we found vitriolic response on Twitter from two sources who blamed us for the news story TIME MAGAZINE ran about the Romney staffer comments.  We did believe they were from Romney staffers/followers and said so in our own ‘Tweets’.  Apparently, however, they were from a website supporting Romney in 2012.  What was confounding is their Twitter accounts had so few followers and yet they somehow reacted immediately to our story.  We are not naïve about how blogging works and found their diatribe-like responses curious. They should have been concerned about the TIME article not our reporting.  Since then most of the media picked up on the story and Romney himself was forced to respond.

Romney’s Twittered apology and rebuke of his staffers reads as follows:  “Anonymous numbskulls. She’s proven her smarts; they’ve disproven theirs.”

Let us hope the Romney folks will aim their future fire at Obama and Pelosi, etc. and not Sarah Palin.  Time will tell.  What we do know is Romney supporters are very sensitive on the subject of Sarah Palin.  They know they are finished if they attack her.  Hopefully common sense and a little growing-up will prevail in the Romney camp.  America deserves better and so does Sarah Palin.

Palin draws even with Obama at 46% in 2012 Presidential Poll.

Democratic Public Policy Polling found some surprising results from their new 2012 Presidential Poll.  After 23 months of media bias and pummeling of Palin she draws even in a match-up against Obama at 46%-to-46%.

Of more interest is Sarah Palin’s favorability ratings which score highest of any of the named GOP candidates.  This lays to rest, for now, that Sarah Palin is somehow ‘un-electable’.  In fact, Palin is doing far better than Ronald Reagan at a similar polling point in the late 1970’s against Jimmy Carter.

Sarah’s polling numbers are even more impressive in that she continues to be the one conservative speaking out against ObamaCare, on immigration, cap and trade and deficits.  The other candidates have been more timid.

This week Sarah Palin’s ‘genius’ was given some left-wing but admirable spin by THE NEW REPUBLIC website and magazine. Rest assured this group is no friend of conservatives nor common sense at times.

However, they do know politics and have written an intriguing article entitled:  MEDIA MAVEN.  You’ll find a link to the article below, but here are some excerpts:

Is Sarah Palin a conventional candidate? Thankfully, she is not. America needs a leader who can lead from the gut of her ‘American experience’. Palin fits the bill.

Courage seems in short supply in the Mitt Romney Presidential camp as staffers decide to take swipes at Sarah Palin. According to TIME MAGAZINE Romney staff had this to say about Governor Palin and the 2012 Presidential campaign:

One adviser to Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, and, by traditional standards, the putative 2012 frontrunner, says of Palin, “She’s not a serious human being.” Another Romney intimate warns, “If she’s standing up there in a debate and the answers are more than 15 seconds long, she’s in trouble.”

The article also quoted another unnamed Republican leader (who may or may not actually exist) as noted here in TIME’s words:

One of the most experienced Republican national political operatives in the country suggests that while Palin might be envied and sleek, she lacks the endurance required for a protracted nomination fight. “She’s like a cheetah. She can run really fast, but not really long.”

Once again the ROMNEY folks and the alleged experts have it wrong.

The American people are fed up with pompous political leaders and mainstream know-it-alls in the media who have bankrupted our country, placed the issues of the small minority over the will of the majority and have begun to make the United States of America a laughing stock around the world.

What Mitt Romney’s staff might consider is that their candidate is not in touch with average American people.

It’s obvious the ROMNEY folks realize they have a big problem with their flip-flopping candidate who enacted the disaster of a healthcare plan in Massachusetts.  Let common sense prevail here.  While Sarah Palin has, and would in 2012, lead the charge against ObamaCare Romney has been largely silent.  He cannot fight on this issue because he agrees with ObamaCare.  It’s his Massachusetts program forced down the throats of the entire nation.

Is Sarah Palin a conventional candidate?  Thankfully, she is not.  America needs a leader who can lead from the gut of her ‘American experience’.  Palin fits the bill.

What Mitt Romney’s staff might consider is that their candidate is not in touch with average American people.  And how do we know…because he hires staff that cowardly hides behind anonymous quotes attacking Sarah Palin.  America needs Sarah Palin in 2012.

Sarah Palin is easily the most courageous American in public life today.

In the face of the NAACP’s racist, false and ignorant rant against their fellow Americans who freely involve themselves in the Tea Party movement, Governor Palin has taken a stand on the side of liberty.

For far too many years politicians of all stripes have let the NAACP get away with such stunts. They have been afraid to risk the ire of the liberal media.  But Palin speaks from a higher level of public discourse…she speaks as an everyday American fed up with the ‘business as usual ‘politics practiced in this country for far too long.

Sarah Palin is a leader. Period.  And we can all be glad there is someone in this nation, at a time of such peril, which views change as common sense action not as an empty campaign slogan.  Here is Governor Palin in her own words:

I am saddened by the NAACP’s claim that patriotic Americans who stand up for the United States of America’s Constitutional rights are somehow “racists.” The charge that Tea Party Americans judge people by the color of their skin is false, appalling, and is a regressive and diversionary tactic to change the subject at hand.

President Reagan called America’s past racism “a legacy of evil” against which we have seen the long struggle of minority citizens for equal rights. He condemned any sort of racism, as all good and decent people do today. He also called it a “point of pride for all Americans” that as a nation, we have successfully struggled to overcome this evil. Reagan rightly declared that “there is no room for racism, anti-Semitism, or other forms of ethnic and racial hatred in this country,” and he warned that we must never go back to the racism of our past.

His words rang especially true in the immediate aftermath of the 2008 presidential election. It seemed that with the election of our first black president, our country had become a new “post-racial” society. As one writer in the Washington Post stated: “[Barack Obama’s] election isn’t just about a black president. It’s about a new America. The days of confrontational identity politics have come to an end.”

We, as a united people, applauded that sentiment. We were proud of that progress. That’s why it is so sad to see that 18 months later, the NAACP is once again using the divisive language of the past to unfairly accuse the Tea Party movement of harboring “racist elements.”

Having been on the receiving end of a similar spurious charge of racism (in a recent frivolous lawsuit which was finally dismissed by a federal judge), I know how Tea Party Americans feel to be falsely accused. To be unjustly accused of association with what Reagan so aptly called that “legacy of evil” is a traumatizing experience, and one of which the honest, freedom-loving patriots of the Tea Party movement are truly undeserving.

On this subject, I can recommend the statement issued by a man I was proud to endorse, Tim Scott, the GOP candidate from South Carolina’s First Congressional District. Tim, poised to become the first African-American Republican Congressman from the former Confederacy since Reconstruction, is himself a sign of a hopeful, truly post-racial future for our country. It gives added meaning to his warning that “the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference.”

The only purpose of such an unfair accusation of racism is to dissuade good Americans from joining the Tea Party movement or listening to the common sense message of Tea Party Americans who simply want government to abide by our Constitution, live within its means, and not borrow and spend away our children’s futures. Red and yellow, black and white, this message is precious in all our sights. All decent Americans abhor racism. No one wants to be associated with any organization that is in any way racist in sentiment or origin. I certainly don’t want to be. Thankfully, the Tea Party movement is not racist or motivated by racism. It is motivated by love of country and all that is good and honest about our proud and diverse nation.

Like President Reagan, Tea Party Americans believe that “the glory of this land has been its capacity for transcending the moral evils of our past.” Isn’t it time we put aside the divisive politics of the past once and for all and celebrate the fact that neither race nor gender is any longer a barrier to achieving success in America – even in achieving the highest office in the land?

I just spent a few beautiful Alaskan days with some beautiful Americans in my husband’s birthplace – they are Todd’s family and they are Yupik Eskimo. In the decades that our families have blended, I have never heard one proud, patriotic member judge another member based on skin color. Both Todd and I were raised to measure a person according to their capacity and willingness to love, work, forgive, contribute, and show good character. We’re joined by the vast majority of Americans in this belief whereby we measure a man by his character, not his color. Because of amazing efforts and accomplishments by those who came before my generation, it is foreign to us to consider condemning or condoning anyone’s actions based on race or gender. Being with our diverse family in a melting pot that is a Native village just days ago reminded me of that.

So to leave that remote village and return back to “modern civilization” only to hear of the NAACP’s resolution today suggesting that we Tea Party Americans don’t respect equality makes me sad for those who choose to divide these great United States. It is time to end the divisive politics.

The liberals at NPR seem to worry Sarah Palin isthe 'real deal' who will defeat 'their Obama' in 2012. So, it seems they've decided to back Romney over Palin. Pretty typical.

National Public Radio (NPR) who rarely provides any coverage to Governor Sarah Palin took note of her ability to raise large sums of money from small donors.

They turned it into a commentary on the 2012 Presidential prospects between Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin.

Like so much else on NPR it seems to wrap ’serious sounding reporting’ against a back drop of liberal wishful thinking.

The liberal media is getting worried they were wrong about Sarah Palin all along.  It sounds like they are beginning to sweat.  As they sweat…millions-upon-millions rejoice that we may have the chance to elect ONE OF US as President in 2012.

The 1 minute 50 second video, titled Mama Grizzlies, is, on the surface, an appeal to American women and an endorsement of various Republican candidates for the upcoming November elections. It sounds, however, more like an early bid for the White House by Palin, herself.

Rarely a day goes by without news generated from Governor Palin endorsing candidates, challenging Obama or simply speaking out for common sense and the Constitution.

More and more people are seeing, even some of the hate-mongers in the liberal media, that Palin is a powerful and perceptive political leader.  She knows 2010 is pivotal to the future of the nation and for the future of her children and grandchildren.  She is working 24/7 it seems to get the right folks elected.

Sarah Palin continues to urge Americans to get up from their seats and out from behind their computers to volunteer in campaigns all around the nation.  It’s easy to ‘just talk’ or ’send a Facebook message or Tweet’ but what wins elections is volunteers knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes and bringing friends to the polls in November.
